This session marked the thirty-first of NSA Club #565 (Northwest)'s 2007-2008 season!
The goodies table included cookies, nuts, raisins, and chips today. Thanks to all who provided snacks for the group.
The tournament rules division was joined by 2 players who played 6 games in which we scored 2,264 points for a 377.33 point-per-game average. Of the 10 recorded bingos we played, none were phoneys that went unchallenged.

We featured two regular contests this week.
The first contest was The Happy, Happy Birthday Contest # 1 for the highest scoring play of a word that begins with either of the letters "C" or "K". Monique Kornell trotted out the new word KYE for 26, but Ed Saunders was able to claw his way to the prize with his 36 point play of CLAW.
The second contest was The Happy, Happy Birthday Contest # 2 for the highest scoring play of a word that begins with either of the letters "R" or "S". Ed Saunders got 75 points for SCUTTER, but Monique Kornell showed her resolve and won the prize with an 80 point play of RESOLVE.
Monique and Ed each picked up $1.50 for their efforts.
Ed's winnings for the week will be donated back to the club kitty.
No one cashed in on any of the Progressive Jackpots this week and each shall have $0.37 added to it. As of this session we have paid out $283.96 in prizes this season. Click here for a complete list of prizes awarded during the 2007-2008 season.
The next session (April 6, 2008) shall feature the following contests:
• Noshing Contest - On April 6, 1930, James
Dewar invented the Hostess cream-filled Twinkie. In honor of this event,
a quarter of dues collected shall be awarded to the player who turns in
the highest scoring play of a word that is the name of, or incorporates
the name of somewhere within it, some sort of snack food. (e.g. TWINKIE,
HOTDOGS, BURGERS, RAISINS, NUTHOUSE, YOGHURT, CHIPPIES, RITZIEST, RUFFLES,
SNICKERS, BERRIES, etc.).
• "X" Marks The Pot Contest - A quarter
of dues collected shall be awarded to the player who turns in the highest
scoring play of a word that contains the letter "X" somewhere
within it. (e.g. XEROTIC, MIXIXES, SALPINX, VERNIXES, OXALISES, OXYMORA,
EQUINOX, OXPECKER, POLEAXES, XANTHAN, etc.)
•Triple-Triple Progressive Jackpot* - $0.37
plus a sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who
scores a Triple-Triple
play.
•100+ Play Progressive Jackpot* - $2.24 plus
a sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores
100 or more points in a single play
•Club 565 Progressive Jackpot - $1.49 plus
a sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores
565 or more points in a single game.
•9+ Bingo Progressive Jackpot* - $2.24 plus
a sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who plays
a bingo of 9 or more letters in length.
