This session marked the sixteenth of NSA Club #565 (Northwest)'s 2007-2008 season!
We'd like to thank Ed Saunders and Judy Carlock for providing the club with goodies this week. Cheese, crackers, grapes, and nuts graced the table this week.
Our recreational division had three players this week. Dee Keys and Elinor Horner came early and played a few games and Brenda Beeley came later and played three games against tournament division players.
The tournament rules division was joined by 6 players who played 32 games in which we scored 12,031 points for a 375.9688 point-per-game average. Of the 36 recorded bingos we played, three were phonies that went unchallenged.
Some numbers and whatnot for the tournament session include:
Some interesting bingos:
We featured two regular contests this week.
The first regular contest was the Chevies And Such Contest for the highest scoring play of a word that is the name of, or incorporates the name of within it, any car or truck. Bob Knouse started his FORD for 10 pts, Carol Knouse took a CAB for 13 pts, but Monique Kornell went flying down the road in her RAVen (Toyota RAV 4) 18 pts to collect the $4.50 prize
The second was the I Talk To The Trees Contest for the highest scoring play of a word that is the name of a tree, bush, or shrub. Richard Spence hooked his bingo INTONES on the front end of AGE to form SAGE (which the Random House/ Webster's Unabridged Dictionary recognizes as a shrub) and score 66 pts. Ed Saunders picks the prize, though, with ORANGES for 75 points and the $4.50 reward.
Ed's prize, along with Bob ($1.62) and Carol ($1.63) Knouse's shares of last week's 100+point Progressive Jackpot will be donated back to the club. Thank you.
No one cashed in on any of the Progressive Jackpots this week and each shall have $1.12 added to it. As of this session we have paid out $150.83 in prizes this season. Click here for a complete list of prizes awarded during the 2007-2008 season.
