Session Notes - September 23, 2007 Session

The Northwest Club will continue to meet at the Highlands Community Clubhouse through September 30th.
Starting with the October 7th session, the club will meet at the home of the Director located at 223 W. Weisshorn St. in Oro Valley (also in the Highlands Community) from 1PM until 7PM.

This session marked the eighth of NSA Club #565 (Northwest)'s 2007-2008 season!

The tournament rules division was joined by 4 players who played 18 games in which we scored 6,783 points for a 376.8333 point-per-game average. Of the 28 recorded bingos we played, four were phonies that went unchallenged.

Dee Keys, Isabel Keranen, Elinor Horner, Carol and Bob Knouse made up our recreational division this week.We had three bingos reported from the recreational players this week (see "Bingos" below).

Some numbers and whatnot for the tournament session include:

Some interesting bingos:

We featured two regular contests this week.

The first regular contest was the First Day Of Autumn Contest for the highest scoring play of a word that pertains to the fall season. Richard Spence submitted "In Tucson, it is still WARM in the fall." (25 pts) Ed Saunders, though, climbed on the wagon with "The teens spread out several bales of HAY on the wagon, hooked up the horses, and headed out for an early autumn hayride." (47 pts). Ed rides off into the night with his $3.00 prize.

The second was the Oh, "K", Let's Have A Contest for the highest scoring play of a word that contains the letter "K" somewhere within it. Karen Lundeen submitted ARK (22), Richard Spence turned in KAF (24), Monique Kornell poured herself a BOCK (44), but Ed Saunders' KEISTER (81) wins the $3.00 prize.

Ed Saunders picked up two of the Progressive Jackpots this week, playing BAROQUES for 107 points to win the 100+Play and finding FALCONETS through the "AL" to take the 9+Bingo pot as well. Ed wins $0.75 for the 100+ Play and $5.63 for the 9+Bingo.

No one cashed in on either of the other Progressive Jackpots this week and each shall have $0.75 added to it. As of this session we have paid out $61.26 in prizes this season. Click here for a complete list of prizes awarded during the 2007-2008 season.
