Session Notes - January 6, 2008 Session

This session marked the twenty-second of NSA Club #565 (Northwest)'s 2007-2008 season!

We'd like to thank club member Ed Saunders for contributing to the goodie table this week.

Margaret Miller, Elinor Horner, and Anita Almond comprised our recreational division this week. Three games were played with each winning one.

The tournament rules division was joined by 3 players who played 12 games in which we scored 4,342 points for a 361.833 point-per-game average. Of the 17 recorded bingos we played, three were phoneys that went unchallenged.

Some numbers and whatnot for the tournament session include:

Some interesting bingos:

We featured two regular contests this week.

The first contest was The Should Auld Acquaintance Contest for the highest scoring play of a word that is the name of, or designation for, someone with whom you might be acquainted. Janis Clem submitted AUNT for 23, Judy Carlock upped the ante with AMIGO for 42, but Ed Saunders made sweet music with his friend the ORGANIST for 70 pts and the $2.25 in the tip jar.

The second contest was the "Q" Contest for the highest scoring play of a word that contains the letter "Q" somewhere within it. Janis Clem picked up $2.25 with her 68 point play of QUEASIER.

Ed's winnings are donated back to the club kitty.

No one cashed in on any of the Progressive Jackpots this week and each shall have $0.56 added to it. As of this session we have paid out $194.47 in prizes this season. Click here for a complete list of prizes awarded during the 2007-2008 season.
