Session Notes - January 17, 2008 Session

This session marked the eleventh week of NSA Club #565's 2007-2008 season!

Since this season will be our first full season as a two-tiered club with both a Recreational and a separate Tournament Rules Division. There will be some tweaking done as the Recreational Division develops.

We were joined by 4 tournament division players who played 22 games. Of the 31 recorded bingos we played, 2 were phoneys that went unchallenged.

We welcomed Pat Madea into our tournament division this week so no games were played in our recreational division. Click here for a roster of Recreational Players

Some numbers and whatnot for this tournament session include:

Some interesting bingos:

We featured two regular contests this week

The first regular contest was the High Powered Contest for the highest scoring play of a word that contains one or more of the letters "Q", "Z", "J", "X", or "K" somewhere within it. Richard Spence picked up 56 points for his play of REX, Mickey Matz scored 82 with REVOKED, but Ed Saunders' RETAXES pulled in 100 points and the $3.00 prize.

The second regular contest was the Low Powered Contest for the highest scoring play of a word having no letters worth more than 1 point anywhere within it. Richard Spence dropped ESTRONE on the board for 75, Mickey Matz bingoed out to win a game with INTONES for 80, but Ed Saunders picked up another $3.00 for the club kitty with his 83 point play of INSURES.

Ed Saunders filed for the 100+ Play Progressive Jackpot this week, returning 100 pts exactly for his bingo of RETAXES. Ed withholds another $0.75 for the club kitty.

Ed's $6.75 winnings for the night go back to the club kitty.

No one cashed in on any of the other Progressive Jackpots this week and each shall have $0.75 added to it. As of this session we have paid out $67.13 in prizes this season. Click here for a complete list of prizes awarded during the 2007-2008 season.

The next session (January 24, 2008) shall feature the following contests:
