Session Notes - November 15, 2007 Session

IMPORTANT!!!!
DUE TO THE THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 22ND, THERE WILL BE NO FORMAL CLUB MEETING ON THAT DATE!!!!

This session marked the third week of NSA Club #565's 2007-2008 season!

This season will be our first full season as a two-tiered club with both a Recreational and a separate Tournament Rules Division. There will be some tweaking done as the Recreational Division develops.

We were joined by 2 tournament division players who played 4 games. Of the 8 recorded bingos we played, none were phoneys that went unchallenged.

Leslie Weber (who racked up a 105 point play of QUESTER this week) and Pat Madea made up our recreational division this week. Each played most of their games against tournament division players. Click here for a roster of Recreational Players

We featured two repeat contests this week.

No one posted an entry for The Name Of The Game Contest this week so we'll run it again next time. $3.00 awaits the winning game player.

Mickey Matz came up with a winner in the "DO" You Wanna Win This Contest?. He laced it up with a 33 point DOILY and paid his weekly dues with the $3.00 pot.

No one cashed in on any of the Progressive Jackpots this week and each shall have $0.37 added to it. As of this session we have paid out $11.25 in prizes this season. Click here for a complete list of prizes awarded during the 2007-2008 season.

The next session (November 29th) shall feature the following contests:
•REPEAT - The Name Of The Game Contest -November 8, 1836 was the birthdate of Milton Bradley, whose company is one of the few that have produced the Scrabble Brand Crossword Game. In honor of this event, $3.00 shall be awarded to the player who turns in the highest scoring play of an acceptable word that is the name of a recognizable game. (e.g. BEZIQUE, EUCHRES, DOMINOS, SCRABBLE, MAHJONG, CHECKERS, CANASTA, CHARADES, PACHISI, etc.).
• It's All About "ME" Contest? - A quarter of dues collected shall be awarded to the player who turns in the highest scoring play of a word that contains the couplet "ME" in that order somewhere within it. (e.g. MENINGES, OMENTAL, HOMEBOYS, WHOMEVER, BECOMES, EPITOMES, MEZEREON, etc.).
• It's All About "U" Contest? - A quarter of dues collected shall be awarded to the player who turns in the highest scoring play of a word that contains the letter "U" somewhere within it. (e.g. UINTAITE, USQUEBAE, RUBIDIUM, DUUMVIRS, DIRDUMS, RUBRICS, QIVIUTS, UMBILICI, SYLLABUS, etc.).
•Triple-Triple Progressive Jackpot* - $4.66 plus a sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores a Triple-Triple play.
•100+ Play Progressive Jackpot* - $2.80 plus a sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores 100 or more points in a single play
•Club 565 Progressive Jackpot - $5.22 plus a sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores 565 or more points in a single game.
•9+ Bingo Progressive Jackpot* - $3.17 plus a sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who plays a bingo of 9 or more letters in length.
* = Jackpot prizes cannot be combined.
