Session Notes - July 3, 2008 Session

This session marked the thirty-fourth week of NSA Club #565's 2007-2008 season!

Since this season will be our first full season as a two-tiered club with both a Recreational and a separate Tournament Rules Division. There will be some tweaking done as the Recreational Division develops.

There were no games in the Recreational Division this week. Click here for a roster of Recreational Players

In the Tournament session, we were joined by 2 tournament division players who played 8 games in which we scored 2,974 points for a 371.75 points per game average. Of the 10 recorded bingos we played, none was a phony that went unchallenged.

Some numbers and whatnot for this tournament session include:

Some interesting bingos:

We featured two regular contests this week

The first regular contest was the Anything But "OUT" Contest for the highest scoring play of a word that contains all three of the letters "O-U-T", in any order OTHER THAN O-U-T, somewhere within it. Ed Saunders played his AUTO for 9 pts and drove home with the $6.75 prize.

The second regular contest was the U-L Luv This Contest for the highest scoring play of a word that contains the letters "U-L", in any order, somewhere within it. Ed Saunders needed to get rid of a "U" and a "V" and noticed a lonely "L" sitting on the board. The resulting 6 pt garbage dump play of LUV added $1.50 to Ed's winnings for the evening.

Ed's $8.25 winnings will be donated back to the club kitty.

No one cashed in on any of the Progressive Jackpots this week and each shall have $0.37 added to it. As of this session we have paid out $234.80 in prizes this season. Click here for a complete list of prizes awarded during the 2007-2008 season.

The next session (July 10, 2008) shall feature the following contests:
Monsoon Contest - A quarter of dues collected shall be awarded to the player who turns in the highest scoring play of a word that pertains to weather in some manner. (e.g. MONSOON, HABOOBS, TORNADIC, HAILING, WINDIER, SUNSHINE, BALMIEST, etc.)
The CON-test Contest! - A quarter of dues collected shall be awarded to the player who turns in the highest scoring play of a word that contains the letters "C-O-N", in that order, somewhere within it. (e.g. TACONITE, INCONNU, ALENCON, CONSTRUE, CONGIUS, SOUPCON, SCONCED, GARCONS, ACONITUM, etc.)
Triple-Triple Progressive Jackpot* - $1.68 plus a sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores a Triple-Triple play.
100+ Play Progressive Jackpot* - $0.37 plus a sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores 100 or more points in a single play
Club 565 Progressive Jackpot - $8.40 plus a sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores 565 or more points in a single game.
9+ Bingo Progressive Jackpot* - $6.35 plus a sixteenth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who plays a bingo of 9 or more letters in length.
