Session Notes - April 3, 2008 Session

This session marked the twenty-first week of NSA Club #565's 2007-2008 season!

Since this season will be our first full season as a two-tiered club with both a Recreational and a separate Tournament Rules Division. There will be some tweaking done as the Recreational Division develops.

In the Tournament session, we were joined by 4 tournament division players who played 18 games in which we scored 6,803 points for a 377.94 points per game average. Of the 27 recorded bingos we played, one was a phoney that went unchallenged.

Phyllis Spence came by just in time to play one recreational game as Mickey Matz had to leave early. Click here for a roster of Recreational Players

Some numbers and whatnot for this tournament session include:

Some interesting bingos:

We featured two regular contests this week

The first regular contest was the Communications Contest for the highest scoring play of a word that pertains in some manner to any form of communications. Ed Saunders had the two highest plays, scoring 78 points with OYEZ and winning the money with an 86 point play of PROFESS.

The second regular contest was the "X" Marks The Pot Contest for the highest scoring play of a word that contains the letter "X" somewhere within it. Mickey Matz scored 48 pts with his play of EXITS, Pat Madea played AXE for 51, Richard Spence got 55 pts for KEX, but Ed Saunders Hooked an "A" on the end ot TAX, to form TAXA and bingoed with BAFFLES for 80 pts and the win.

Ed's $6.00 winnings go back to the club kitty.

Richard Spence put together a monster game and picked up the Club # 565 Progressive Jackpot with a 596 point game and wins the $1.67 that was in the kitty.

No one cashed in on any of the other Progressive Jackpots this week and each shall have $0.75 added to it. As of this session we have paid out $129.08 in prizes this season. Click here for a complete list of prizes awarded during the 2007-2008 season.
