This was the 48th session of the 2004 - 2005 Season of National Scrabble Association Club #565!
We were joined by eight players who played 20 games in which we scored 14,930 points for a 746.5 point-per-game average. Of the 49 recorded bingos we played, only one was a phony that went remained unchallenged.

Deja Bingo - In his game against Joshua Kassel, Lewis Saul picked up the tiles AEINRST and found that his best play was ANESTRI. After his next play, he once again had a rack of AEINRST and once again found hos best play to be ANESTRI.

The first of the evening's contest was the High Game contest, which Monique Kornell won with a 501 point victry. Our second contest was the "What's After 35?" Contest (because Josh Kassel turned 35) for the highest scoring play following a play of 35 points. naurlene Canterman picked this one up with a 35 point play of PREZ followed by an 81 point play of CLEAVED. Monique and Naurlene both take home $5.50.
Ed Saunders picked up the 9+ Bingo Jackpot by bingoing out through an existing S and D with REASSURED for 61 points. Josh Kassel picked up the Triple-Triple Progressive Jackpot by playing SEETHING through an existing N for 158 points. Both Josh and Ed take home $2.61, and $0.56 shall be added to the other two progressive jackpots as well. The "10 Useful Letters" contest had no players score points, and Ed Saunders remains in 1st place. For standings and rules, click here. The next session (27 October) shall feature the following contests:
- End of the Season Contest #1- This is the last session of the 2004-2005 season for NSA Clun #565. As is such, ~a quarter of dues collected shall be awarded to the player who plays the highest scoring final play of the game.
- End of the Season Contest #2 - Following the theme above, ~a quarter of dues collected shall be awarded to the player who makes the highest scoring play following using the tiles E-N-D played in that order (e.g., TRENDING, ENDIVES, BARTEND, etc.). To qualify for this contest, you must play the E, N, and D tiles (extending a previously-played "END" word does not count). Designating a blank as E, N, or D does count!
- Triple-Triple Progressive Jackpot* - $1.50 plus an eighth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores a Triple-Triple play.
- 100+ Play Progressive Jackpot* - An eighth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores 100 or more points in a single play
- Club 565 Progressive Jackpot - $2.06 plus an eighth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores 565 or more points in a single game.
- 9+ Bingo Progressive Jackpot* - An eighth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who plays a bingo of 9 or more letters in length.
