The first of our contests for the session was the Close Win contest for the winning score that was closest to the opponent's losing score. Bob Yarmchuk picked this up with a score of 342 to his opponent's 340. The second contest was the "b-EST-IST Contest" for the highest scoring play ending with either -IST or -EST. Although closely contested with a 65 point play of EARNEST by Naurlene Canterman as well as a 68 point play of GREATEST by Daniel Forrect, Bob Yarmchuk's 70 point play of SUNNIEST took this as well. Bob takes home $12.50 this session. This session also featured the letter B in the ongoing Alphabet Bingo Contest in which all bingos starting with an "B" scored a point. Four folks scored in this contest, and we have seven players all with one point. Click here for Alphabet Bingo standings and rules!
Nathan Benedict picked up 12.84 for being the first to nail the Triple-Triple Progressive Jackpot this season. His bingo of VARIOLES scored 149 points, the highest single play of the season as well. The other three progressive jackpots shall each have $1.68 added to them. As of this session, we have payed out $135.83 in prizes for the 2004-2005 season. Click here for a complete list of winners.
The next session (23 December) shall feature the following contests:
- Holiday Contest - A quarter of dues collected shall be awarded
to the player who makes the highest scoring play of a word that is holiday
themed (e.g., YULES, EGGNOGS, MENORAH, etc.). In order to qualify for this
contest, you must write the word and a brief description of why it is a holiday
themed. If you can justify a word as being holiday themed, we'll accept it
as an entry, so be creative!
- "PRO or CONtest" - A quarter of dues collected
shall be awarded to the player who makes the highest-scoring play that begins
with PRO or CON (e.g., PROTONS, CONTRITE, etc.).
Alphabet Bingo Contest - The Alphabet Bingo Letter for this
session is C. Each bingo beginning with C scores one point (click
here for standings and rules)
- Triple-Triple Progressive Jackpot* - An eighth of the session's
dues will be awarded to any player who scores a Triple-Triple
