This was the 31st session of the 2004 - 2005 Season of National Scrabble Association Club #565!
We were joined by a 6 players, who played a total of 17 games in which we scored 12,876 points for a 757.4 point-per-game average. Of the 40 recorded bingos we played, 4 were phonies that went unchallenged.
Some numbers and whatnot for this session include:
High Game - 479 points by Michael Rhodes
Low Win - 361 points by Ed Saunders
High Loss - 380 points by Karen Lundeen (Opponent at 423)
Bingo Kings - Ed Saunders and Joshua Kassel for each averaging 1.5 bingos per game
High Non-Bingos - Ed Saunders put down ZAPS, hooking RESTRAIN to form RESTRAINS for 66. He also put down ZERK, front-hooking HO and AB to make RHO and KAB for 86 points.
Double-Double Bingo - Joshua Kassel records a Double-Double bingo of RETSINA for 84.

This session featured two contests. First was the Close win contest for the winning score that was closest to an opponent's losing score. Ed Saunders won this with a close game against Joshua Kassel of 369-364, a 5 point win. Ed Also won the "Add 2 Contest" fot the highest scoring play made by extending an existing word with two letters. His adding FI to DE to form DEFI for 16 points just beat out Josh Kassel's adding RA to ZED to form RAZED (15 points). Ed takes home $9 for the session.
None of the four progressive jackpots were won, and each shall each have $1.12 added to them. As of this session, we have payed out $663.00 in prizes for the 2004-2005 season. Click here for a complete list of winners.
The next session (16 June) shall feature the following contests:
- Close Lose Contest - A quarter of dues collected will be paid to the player whose losing score is closest to his or her opponent's winning score (e.g., 385 to 395). Tie games do not count.

Power Tile Contest - A quarter of dues collected shall be awarded to the player who makes the highest-scoring play beginning with the J, Q, X, or Z tile. To qualify, the player must play the actual J, Q, X, or Z tile. Designating a blank as a power tile does not count.
- Triple-Triple Progressive Jackpot* - $4.86 plus an eighth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores a Triple-Triple play.
- 100+ Play Progressive Jackpot* - $6.17 plus an eighth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores 100 or more points in a single play
- Club 565 Progressive Jackpot - $11.59 plus an eighth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores 565 or more points in a single game.
- 9+ Bingo Progressive Jackpot* - $2.24 plus an eighth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who plays a bingo of 9 or more letters in length.
