This was the 26th session of the 2004 - 2005 Season of National Scrabble Association Club #565!
We were joined by a light crowd of 6 players, who played a total of 18 games in which we scored 13,071 points for a 726.2 point-per-game average. Of the 39 recorded bingos we played, 3 were phonies that went unchallenged.
Some numbers and whatnot for this session include:
High Game - 529 points by Ed Saunders (Coincidentally, the same score as last week's high game)
Low Win - 339 points by Bob Yarmchuk
High Loss - 381 points by Bob Yarmchuk (Opponent at 398)
Bingo Kings - Ed saunders for averaging 2.2 bingos per game

This session featured two contests. The first the 05/05/05 contest --in honor of the repetitive date -- for the highest score made using any five tiles. Four folks turned in entries, with Ed Saunders winning the contest with a 63 point play:
- XENIC (63 points) - Played by Ed Saunders
- PITHS (51 points) - Played by Bob Yarmchuk
- WALKS (50 points) - Played by Monique Kornell
- STING (30 points) - Played by Naurlene Canterman
The second contest was the "Add 2 Or moer" contest for the highest scoring play made by adding 2 or more tiles to a previously played word. Three folks turned in entries, with Naurlene Canterman winning it:
- GRI added to MED to form GRImed for 12 points by Joshua Kassel
- AD added to JOINT to form ADjoint for 17 points by Monique Kornell
- WTD played through AN and an existing E to form WanTeD for 28
Naurlene and Ed take home $4 prizes.
This session featured the letter V in the ongoing Alphabet Bingo Contest in which all bingos starting with an "V" scored a point. Only Bob Yarmchuk scored this week, and nathan Benedict is in 1st place, with Joshua Kassel in 2nd.Click here for Alphabet Bingo standings and rules!
Naurlene Canterman picked up the 100+ Play Progressive Jackpot with a 124 point play of SQUARED and takes home $5.42. The other three progressive jackpots shall each have $1.12 added to it. As of this session, we have payed out $558.26 in prizes for the 2004-2005 season. Click here for a complete list of winners.
The next session (12 May) shall feature the following contests:
- Low Win Contest - ~A quarter of dues shall be awarded to the lowest scoring winning game.
- CH Contest - ~ A quarter of dues collected shall be awarded to the highest scoring play is made by playing the C and H tiles together (e.g., CHEWED, ETCHING, WRETCHES, etc.). To qualify for this contest, you must play both the C and H; hooking a previously-played "CH" word does not count. Designating a blabnk as a C or H does count.
Alphabet Bingo Contest - The Alphabet Bingo Letter for this session is W. Each bingo beginning with W scores one point (click here for standings and rules)
- Triple-Triple Progressive Jackpot* - $11.03 plus an eighth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores a Triple-Triple play.
- 100+ Play Progressive Jackpot* - An eighth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores 100 or more points in a single play
- Club 565 Progressive Jackpot - $5.42 plus an eighth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who scores 565 or more points in a single game.
- 9+ Bingo Progressive Jackpot* - $2.24 plus an eighth of the session's dues will be awarded to any player who plays a bingo of 9 or more letters in length.
