+ Session NotesThis was our tenth session of the season. We were joined by 15 players who played 31 games. We scored a total of 22,415 points for a 723.1 points-per-game average. We played 55 bingos this session. Of those bingos, 2 were very plausible phonies (BLONDIE* and OVERNITE*) that went unchallenged. Naurlene Canterman had a great night. She turned in a perfect 6-0 scorecard and picked up an even 100 points in her club rating, a new record. Although her bingo average was 2 per game, Judith Whitcomb does not get to wear the bingo queen crown due to the fact she only played one game. Rather, Nathan Benedict and Joshua Kassel share the Bingo King crown for a 1.4 bingos-per-game average. The best bingo of the evening, however, was played by Brent Aronson for his play of LANGSYNE (time long past). The High Game prize for the evening was won by Monique Kornell for a 509 point shutout, a silver lining to her evening where she beat her opponent by more than double his score. The Triple Digit Contest for the game that scored closest to a triple digit (e.g., 222, 333, 444) was a close call. Although Lewis Saul was only 3 points away from a triple digit with his 330 game, Naurlene won out with a game of 335, only 2 points from a triple digit. Both Monique and Naurlene take home prizes of $10.75. Nobody scored points in The Double Bingo contest, which featured the power tiles J and Q. Ed Saunders remains in 1st place; click here for standings. Finally, none of the four progressive jackpots were picked up, and $2.82 will be added to each. Next Session (29 January) will feature the following contests: + Bingos by PlayerBelow are the bingos played during the 22 January 2004 session at National Scrabble Association Club #565.
