+ Session NotesVery important note. We will not be meeting next Thursday. Our next session will be 04 December. Have a great Thanksgiving! This was our third session of the season. We were joined by 12 players. Joining us for the first time was Morgan Christian, a recent transplant from San Diego to Tucson, who is learning the game and who has graciously offered to be computer guy at out upcoming December tournament. We played 28 Games in which 20,408 points were scored for a 728.857 points-per-game average. We played 73 bingos this session. Of those bingos, 4 were phonies that went unchallenged. As this was the final session for November, club rankings for the month are available as well. Ed Saunders was the evening's top player by turning in a perfect 5-0 +343 scorecard. Monique Kornell also won 100% of her games with a 4-0 +304 scorecard. Ed also wears the Bingo King crown for the session by playing 11 bingos in 5 games. This session featured two contests. Nathan Benedict won the "373 Contest" for the game closest to 373 points by turning in a winning score of, you guessed it, 373 points. The "UNusual Contest for the highest-scoring word beginning with UN was picked up by Ed Saunders, who barely beat out rex Kremer's 61-point play of UNHOLIER, with a 66-point play of UNPICKED. Nathan and Ed both take home $7.75 prizes. Congrats. We had several items of interest this session. For starters, half of the players averaged over 400 points per game. Rex Kremer became the first person this season to throw down 4 bingos in one game. Judith Whitcomb and Josh Kassel hit the first combined game of over 900 points with Judith winning in a 465-438 game. Bob Whitcomb bingoed out against Ed Saunders, catching him with one of the more painful Q-Sticks seen in a while (Ed's rack was DFFLLOQ, making him eat 46 points). Josh played a 542 point game, the highest yet of this season. Finally, Lewis Saul and Josh racked up over 200 points in four consecutive plays, not a big deal unless you consider that none of those plays were bingos. Five people scored in The Double Bingo Contest, and Lewis Saul is still in the lead with 4 points; click here for standings. None of the four jackpot prizes were won this session, and $2.07 will be added to each. Next Session (04 December) will feature the following contests: + Bingos by PlayerBelow are the bingos played during the 20 November 2003 session at National Scrabble Association Club #565.
