+ Session NotesBefore launching into this week's results, two important
scheduling notes: This was our sixth session of the season. We were joined by 16 players, who played 36 Games in which 25,537 points were scored for a 709.4 points-per-game average. Identical to last week, we played 81 bingos this session. Of those bingos, 5 were phonies that went unchallenged. We welcomed two new players this session. Stacy Nikkila and her boyfriend Brandon Rodon showed up after Stacy read about us in The Tucson Weekly. Both students at the U, Stacy has been a kitchen player for some time, and Brandon is a bit newer to the game. We welcome both. As this was the final session of the month, club rankings for the month of December are available as well. Once again, Nathan Benedict was the
top player of the night, turning in a perfect 6-0+691 scorecard. He was also
Bingo King for the evening with 13 bingos in 6 games. Monique Kornell, on
the other hand, was phony bingo queen by turning in five bingos, three of
which (latchers*, routered*, and unbares*) were
phonies. Our Holiday Contest for the highest-scoring play of a word
related to the holidays had several entries. The contest rules were to
"be creative" in justifying your word to be holiday related. We
saw the following entries: Our four progressive jackpot prizes all went unclaimed, and $2.44 will be added to each. Three folks scored points in the Double Bingo contest, and Ed Saunders is still in 1st place; click here for standings. Next Session (01 January) will feature the following contests: + Bingos by PlayerBelow are the bingos played during the 18 December 2003 session at National Scrabble Association Club #565.
