+ Session NotesThis was our fifth session of the season. We were joined by 11 players, who played 26 Games in which 19,427 points were scored for a 747.2 points-per-game average. Identical to last week, we played 70 bingos this session. Of those bingos, 3 were phonies that went unchallenged. Nathan Benedict was on fire last night. Not only did he turn in a perfect 5-0 scorecard, but he also played three games of over 500 points, missing the very large 600 Jackpot by only 11 points with a 589 score. He was also the Bingo King for the session by playing 13 bingos for a 2.6 bingos-per-game average. Needless to say, he also won the High Win prize for the night. Naurlene Canterman won the other prize for the session: the "Xciting Contest" for the highest play using the X tile. She turned in a 66-point play of PIX. Both she and Nathan take home $7.75. We added a last minute contest to the session for two 2003 Tucson Tournament commemorative coffee mugs for the highest plays containing the tiles C-U-P, but nobody won them. This contest will run again next week. Even though Rex Kremer cleaned it out last week, Karen Lundeen takes home $2.06 for hitting the 9+ Bingo Jackpot with the play DELOUSING. The other three jackpots remain unclaimed, and $2.06 will be added to each. Nathan, Naurlene, Ed Saunders, and Bob Whitcomb were the only folks to play bingos starting with E or V, the sessions Double Bingo letters. Ed became the first player in this contest to pick up a bonus point by playing bingos that started with each letter, and he now takes 1st place; click here for standings. Next Session (18 December) will feature the following contests: + Bingos by PlayerBelow are the bingos played during the 11 December 2003 session at National Scrabble Association Club #565.
