+ Session NotesThis was our twelfth session of the season. We were joined by 12 players -- and welcomed Lois Couch to our club for the first time. We played 26 games. We scored a total of 19,113 points for a 735.1 points-per-game average. We played 54 bingos this session. Of those bingos, 5 were phonies that went unchallenged. Jason Sommer demonstrated his creativity with 3 of his 8 bingos being phonies, a feat which thrusts him into the limelight as the King of Phony Bingos this season with 17% of all the bingos he played since this season's beginning being phonies that went unchallenged. On the other side of the spectrum, Karen Lundeen is by far the "Fairest of the Fair" this season; none of her 29 bingos played so far this season have been phonies. Ed Saunders was the top player of the evening, turning in a 4-1 +243 scorecard. Ed and Linda Bredel share the Bingo King and Queen crown with 9 bingos each. There were at least four racks with double blanks at club. Of these, Josh Kassel's ??DEINS had potentially 168 bingos (he played SNIDEST). Josh had another double-blank rank in his next rack (and let's hope he draws like this in the Phoenix tournament) but there wasn't a spot on the board for any of the potential 191 bingos in ??EINRT. Naurlene had ??AINSU (49 bingos) and Lois had ??INNQU (QUININA, QUININE, QUININS, QUINTIN) and opted for AQUAS to the triple for 68 points. The High Win prize of $7.75, a quarter of the dues, was won by Nathan Benedict, who scored a high game of 577 points. The Six Contest for the highest scoring play using six tiles, also worth $7.75, was won by Naurlene Canterman with a 62-point play of EQUITY. Ed Saunders nailed the Triple-Triple Jackpot with a 131-point play of ROLAMITE. Ed takes home $22.89. Our three other progressive jackpots all went unclaimed, and $2.06 will be added to each. Four folks scored points in the Double Bingo contest, which featured the letters L and O. Ed Saunders remains in 1st place with 11 points. Josh Kassel is in 2nd with 9 points; click here for standings. Next session will be the final week of the Double Bingo Contest -- will it be a race to the finish?!? Next Session (12 February) will feature the following contests: + Bingos by PlayerBelow are the bingos played during the 05 February 2004 session at National Scrabble Association Club #565.
