+ Session NotesThis was our fourth session of the season. We were joined by 11 players, all but one of whom is playing in this weekend's tournament. Good luck to all! We had two surprise visitors, old friends both: John Hart and Jason Sommer. We played 29 Games in which 21,051 points were scored for a 725.9 points-per-game average. We played 70 bingos this session. Of those bingos, 4 were phonies that went unchallenged. Bob Whitcomb was the evening's top player by turning in a perfect 3-0 +179 scorecard. Ed Saunders was the Bingo King for the session by playing 11 bingos in 6 games. This session's first contest was the "Stick it to your opponent" contest for the player who earned the most amount of point off his or her opponent's rack by going out. Karen Lundeen wins it by earning 32 points by going out and catching Josh with HQST on his rack. Proving that karma really does exist, she was later Q-stuck by Ed Saunders, who caught her with EIQ on her rack. The second contest was the "Kontest" contest for the highest play made using the K tile. If designating the blank as a K counted, Judith Whitcomb would have won with her 84-point bingo of JUNkIES. However, John Hart wins it with a natural 83-point bingo of LINKERS, just beating out Bob Whitcomb's 82-pointer KRATERS. Karen and John both take home $7.75 prizes. Congrats. Two people scored in The Double Bingo Contest, and Lewis Saul is still in the lead (but just barely) with 4 points; click here for standings. Rex Kremer nailed the 9+ Bingo Jackpot with a 9-letter bingo of SEDITIONS, for 60 points. He scoops up the $8.94 jackpot. Congrats! The other three jackpots remain unclaimed, and $2.06 will be added to each. Next Session (11 December) will feature the following contests: + Bingos by PlayerBelow are the bingos played during the 04 December 2003 session at National Scrabble Association Club #565.
