Session Notes:
This was our 28th session of the season. We had 14 players tally up a total of 21,882 points in the course of 30 games. We saw 57 bingos played this session; 6 of those bingos were phonies that went unchallenged.

We bid a fond farewell to Judith and Robert Whitcomb. They are off for their summer retreat to the much cooler hills of West Virginia. We might see them in town for a session in July, but otherwise we'll miss them.

The winner of the High Loss prize this session is Ed Saunders, who lost to Linda Bredel in a 370-380 match. The "Direction" contest winner for the highest-scoring word relating to direction was Gary Wagman's 70 point play SLOPING, which barely beat out Naurlene Canterman's 69-point play of UPGROWTH. Both Ed and Gary earn $6.50 prizes for their efforts. Congrats!

The Alphabet Bingo contest featured the letter D. We had seven bingos this session beginning with the letter D, and Ed Saunders is still in first place. For Alphabet Bingo details, click here. Nobody nailed a Triple-Triple play or a bingo with 9 or more letters, and we will add $3.50 to each of these jackpots.

Finally, since this was the last session of the month, club rankings for the month of May are available below.

Next Session (5 June) will feature the following contests:
- High Win - A prize will be awarded for the highest-scoring game (~a quarter of dues collected)

- "High Three" Contest - A prize will be awarded to the highest-scoring play that is made by playing only three letters. This can be the result of playing a three-letter word (e.g., SUQ, ZAX, etc.) or extension play (e.g., adding ING to ABORT to form ABORTING). (~a quarter of dues collected).
- Triple-Triple Jackpot - A jackpot of $17.25 plus an eighth of the evening's dues will be awarded to any player(s) who scores a Triple-Triple Play.
- 9+ Bingo Jackpot
- A jackpot of $24.25 plus an eighth of the evening's dues will be awarded to any player(s) who scores a bingo containing nine or more letters.
- Alphabet Bingo
- The Alphabet Bingo letter for this session is "E." For each bingo you play that begins with the letter E, you score one point. Click here for more information about Alphabet Bingo. ($26 Jackpot)
