Session Notes:
This session
saw 17 players compete in a total of 32 games. We saw a total of 24,985
points scored. 93 bingos were played this session. Of those bingos, six
were phonies that went unchallenged.
Lewis Saul
was the top player of the night with an 85.7% winning average. Already
a top player he also picked up the most club ratings points (+71) in a single
session so far this season. Lewis also turned in the highest number of
bingos for the night, playing twelve in seven games. However, Linda Bredel
was the bingo queen by turning in a total of ten bingos in four games for
a 2.75 bingos-per-game average. Congratulations!
Congratulations
to Rex Kremer for winning the 9+ Bingo Jackpot with an amazing find of
TOPSIDERS played through a T and an I. Although
this impressive play only netted him 62 points, he picks up an $18.50 prize
for it. Nobody won the Triple-Triple Jackpot, and $4.25 was added to it.
Linda Bredel
turned in two games of over 500 points, but Ed Saunders captured the prize
for the High Game with a smooth score of 552 points, which was aided by
five bingos in a single game. The "What's On The Menu Contest" for the highest
scoring word that appeard on the Denny's menu was won by Vic Kaye for his
play DIET (appearing as a "diet" plate). This DIET play was
a slim (pun intended) score of only 15 points, but a winner nonetheless.
Vic and Ed each pick up $8.50.
Next
session (13 March 2003) will feature prizes for:
- Low Win (a quarter of dues collected)
- "Know Your Competition" Contest - A prize will be
awarded to the player who plays the highest-scoring word that is the
first or last name of someone who has attended the club this season (e.g.,
Yusupha JOW, REX Kremer, BOB
Whitcomb, JAKE Jacobs, CAIRN, Nathan BENEDICT,
etc.). Blanks count (a quarter of dues collected).
- Triple-Triple plays ($4.25 plus an eighth
of dues collected)
- 9+ Bingos (an eighth of dues collected)
