Session Notes:

Eleven players attended this session, including Linda Bredel, who has been off visiting relatives in Germany for the holidays.

As a reminder, Monique Kornell will be hosting a rated one-day tournament (and pot luck!) for members of NSA Club #565 on Sunday, January 19.  The entry fees for this tournament is $10, and 100% of the entry fees will be returned as cash prizes. Your club dues will cover all related expenses.  For more information on this event (and to register online), use the following link: http://tucsonscrabble.com/Tournaments/TucsonJanLCT.html

John Jensen captured the prize for highest game played by turning in a 527-point victory. Brent Aronson won the prize for the highest-scoring play using one tile by placing an X going two ways on a DLS for 34 points. Ed Saunders came close by placing a Z on a TLS for 33 points, but did not quite win the contest.

Ed Saunders was the session's overall best performer, turning in a perfect 5-0 scorecard and scoring eleven bingos in five games. Way to go! Nobody played a Triple-Triple, and the cash prize for doing so now stands at $19.50. Also, nobody played a bingo of nine or more letters, and the pot for that acheivement now stands at $11.00.

Next session (16 January) will feature prizes for:
- Highest game (a quarter of dues collected)
- Triple-Triple plays ($19.50 plus an eighth of dues collected)
- 9+ Bingos  ($11.00 plus an eighth of dues collected)
- Low Bingo. A prize will be awarded to the player who plays the lowest-scoring bingo; 55 points is the lowest-scoring possible bingo
(a quarter of dues collected).
