Session Notes:

Thirteen players joined us for fun and games this session. Two new players heard about us from The Arizona Daily Star's community events listing and dropped in as well. Dave Borquez and Gary Wagman, we welcome you both to the Scrabble fold!

John Jensen was the top player of the night, turning in a 5-1 +646 score card. Ed Saunders was bingo king, with eight bingos in four games.  Ed also captures the prize for the High Game of the evening with a 557-point shutout against an opponent who shall remain unnamed. Although not a cash prize, high play of the night goes to Brent Aronson with a 123-point bingo of CRASHED (ECHARDS).  Josh Kassel wins the prize for the highest-scoring word that begins or ends with "NO" by playing NO/TWO/OW for 26 points, an unimpressive score, but enough to win the prize.

Nathan Benedict was able to win the pot for playing a bingo of nine or more letters. Playing DELEADING for 86 points wins him eight dollars and the first ever prize awarded in this category.  The 9+ Bingo pot is now at zero and awaiting the next long word. Nobody nailed a Triple-Triple word, and the pot for doing so is still up for grabs.

Next session (19 December) will feature prizes for:
- Highest game (a quarter of dues collected)
- Triple-Triple plays ($8.00 plus an eighth of dues collected)
- 9+ Bingos  (an eighth of dues collected)
- High CH play.  A prize will be given for the highest-scoring word that contains CH (e.g., CHEWS, AR
CHING, SCHNOZ, BACCHIC, etc.). To qualify for this  prize, you must actually play both the C and H tiles. Hooking onto a previously-played word (e.g., adding H to ARC to form ARCH or adding C to HARMS to form CHARMS) does not count.
