| 1 | No Games This Week |
This session marked the thirty-sixth week of NSA Club #565's 2007-2008 season!
Since this season will be our first full season as a two-tiered club with
both a Recreational and a separate Tournament Rules Division. There will
be some tweaking done as the Recreational Division develops.
There were no games in the Recreational Division this week. Click
here for a roster of Recreational Players
In the Tournament session, we were joined by 2 tournament division players who played 6 games in which we scored 2,352 points for a 392.0 points per game average. Of the 11 recorded bingos we played, none was a phony that went unchallenged.
Some numbers and whatnot for this tournament session include:
Some interesting bingos:
We featured two regular contests this week
The first regular contest was the Birds Contest for the highest scoring play of a word that is the name of, or contains the name of somewhere within it, a bird. Ed Saunders didn't feel at all awkward about winning this contest with his AUK word, scoring 27 points and the $1.50 prize.
The second regular contest was the "B"s Contest for the highest scoring play of a word that begins with the letter "B". Ed Saunders beat the drum for this contest, back-hooking the "O" from his bingo COSTARS to form the word BONGO for 88 pts. Ed pounded out another $1.50 for this play.
Ed Saunders launched a full-scale attack on the 100+ Point Play Progressive Jackpot this week, topping the century mark with a D/D of HOARDED for 108 pts and following that up with a TWS of WASTRIE for 100 even. Ed picks up another $0.37 for his efforts.
Ed's $3.37 winnings will be donated back to the club kitty. In addition
to Ed's winnings, Pat Madea donated his $2.25 winnings from the July 10th
CON-test Contest to the club kitty, as well. Thanks!
No one cashed in on any of the other Progressive Jackpots this week and
each shall have $0.37 added to it. As of this session we have paid out $243.60
in prizes this season. Click
here for a complete list of prizes awarded during the 2007-2008 season.
